Support Your Neighbours In Need This Easter!

Fresh Food Weekly is hosting an Easter Dessert Drive for low-income families living in Barrie, and we’re collecting dessert donations in two ways;

1) Local bakeries and restaurants who have extra desserts leftover at the end of the day, that can be frozen, can donate anytime between now and Apr. 14th - even if they’re leftover from Christmas and have Santas on them!

2) We’ve also partnered with The Vegan Pantry so our community can get involved too!

You can support your neighbours in need this Easter by donating a dessert to a low-income family through The Vegan Pantry!

Located in downtown Barrie, The Vegan Pantry is a 100% dairy-free, egg-free, gluten-free and refined sugar-free, vegan bakery.

If you’d like to support, visit their bakery at 34 Ross St, or purchase online using their ‘Easter Donation Menu’. You can also place an order over the phone at (705) 734-1211 or by email at info@theveganpantry.ca, or on social media. Their hours are currently:

10am - 5pm Tuesdays

10am - 5pm Wednesdays

10am - 7pm Thursdays

10am - 7pm Fridays

10am - 5pm Saturdays

Closed Sundays

Closed Mondays

Fresh Food Weekly volunteers will deliver all donations to recipients on Apr. 15, 2022.

I want to give a big thank you to Michael and Alyssa for helping our community in this creative and meaningful way! 🙏❤️

Children’s Easter Gift Drive

Fresh Food Weekly is also hosting a Children’s Easter Gift Drive for low-income families in Barrie!

We‘re collecting new or unopened Easter gifts for children between the ages of one and 10, of any kind, including Easter candy and baskets, egg decorating kits and Easter crafts!

Myself and some volunteers will deliver these Easter gifts to recipients who’ve signed up to receive them in advance on Apr. 15th as well.

As you know, Fresh Food Weekly and it’s volunteers delivered fresh food to low-income families on a weekly basis throughout the summer. I’ve finally gathered up some of the demographic information and as you can see, there were quite a few children in receipt of the food.

I think a lot of these families could use some extra help this Easter so I thought I would see what I can pull together 😊. I did a similar thing at Christmas, but it was a Beauty Product Drive for women from the women and children’s shelter. I’m going to include a photo of the gift baskets here - I’m hoping to do something similar to this again for this Children’s Easter Gift Drive!

If you would like to donate to the Children’s Easter Gift Drive, please send me a message directly through the website, or any of my social media accounts!

Thank you!
